Hussain Salafi

 - A Biographical Sketch

Hussain K., popularly known as Hussain Salafi is known to many by his lectures and classes and also through the numerous audio/video cassettes available.  Born in 1965 in a village called Pulamanthol near Perinthalmanna, Malappuram District, Kerala, to Janab Pocker Molla and late Kunheema, he had his early education from the local school.  After S.S.L.C he joined Salafiya Arabic College, Karinganad and passed Afzal-Ul-Ulama from Calicut University with Second Rank.  Later he joined Jamiya Salafiya, Pulikkal for higher studies. He had a short stint in Imam University, Riyadh also.

Before coming to U.A.E. he had worked as an Arabic teacher in a Govt.Primary School in Kerala.  Presently he is the Principal of Al Islah Madrassa, Sharjah and conducts classes for two batches in the newly introduced Qura’n Learning School.  Within U.A.E, he regularly takes classes in Ajman, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, and quite frequently travels within G.C.C. countries for lectures. For the last 3 years he is the President of Indian Islahi Center, Sharjah and even in this busy schedule he finds time to associate with  ‘Al Islah’, a fortnightly being published from Kozhikode, in his capacity as the Chief Editor.

In 1985, his life took a turn when he joined the Towheedi Movement of Kerala called Nadvathul Mujahideen.  Since then he has been working relentlessly to awaken the common Muslim masses of Kerala from the absurdity of their superstitious beliefs, which is against Qur'an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

As a Khateeb at Masjid Khalid Bin Sultan (Mysaloon), Sharjah, Hussain Salafi has been leading the Friday prayers and delivering the khutba speeches for the last 10 years. Analysing the current affairs in the light of Qur'an and Sunnah and explaining the same to the common man  in the language known to him in his inimitable style, is drawing crowds to this mosque from far and near. 

The series of classes conducted every week in Sharjah Islahi center are well attended and covers varied topics. Dissecting every issue to the minutest detail, candid observations, lively presentation etc are the hallmark of his speeches. There are more than 400 audio/ video cassettes to his credit which are available with leading Islamic book shops and Libraries in Kerala and Gulf.  The recently held open debate and question and answer session called ‘Mugha Mugham’ in Sharjah and Riyadh had evinced a lot of interest among people from all walks of life.

Married to Mrs.Shaharban, Janab Salafi is blessed with three children, Husna, Ihsan and Muhsin.
